Create a Blog/Website

Ages: 6+

1 to 3 days workshops

A blog (a truncation of the expression "weblog").

The word “blog” is a shortened version of web logs or weblogs. Besides being shorter and catchier, “blog” seems less likely to cause confusion, as “web log” can also mean a server’s log files.

If you want to learn to create WEB PAGE/ starting a new blog. If you are considering WEB-SITE, join us for the fun!!

We will use very basic online software to design our Blogs or Web-sites, which is user-friendly, enabling children of all skill levels to create a stunning website without having to touch a line of code. It fundamentally works using online drag and drop tools. This gives students the complete freedom to express their creativity, and not be hindered by a lack of technical skills.

Just come up with a topic & enjoy the learning. Do you want to make a Food blog? A personal blog? Or a Book blog? Travelling blog?

List goes on!!

Web Designing - definition

"A website is a collection of web pages (documents that are accessed through the Internet), such as the one you're looking at now. A web page is what you see on the screen when you type in a web address, click on a link, or put a query in a search engine."

.

Websites for our local NZ Companies, such as www.warehouse.co.nz, www.farmers.co.nz, www.newworld.co.nz, etc. will be our example sites to teach children.

They will learn to create their own websites using

  • GUI based platform (easy drag and drop facility for younger minds)

We will have hands-on fun! No prior programming experience is required.

We welcome children to come up with their own ideas regarding the topic however we help them to explore Logos, relevant images, hyperlinks, etc.

If children have done WIZKIDs Movie making course prior to this, they can link their movie videos on to the website to make it continuous learning.

The wonderful thing is that the “Creative Young minds” can continue to redesign their website and add to it, for years to come.

At the end of the second day, we will have a Presentation Session where kids will present their Web site with narration, and we will encourage them to have group discussions about the improvements in their design.

Please note that the child must have own Email I'd with knowledge of the username and password.
Parents are encouraged to spare some time and join us at the end of the Workshop to see their kid’s work.

This course is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device - Laptop only) or Hire Our Device*
